About Us
The Suffolk Primary Headteachers' Association exists for all headteachers working in primary schools in Suffolk. Its mission to make Suffolk the best place to be a headteacher and we try and make this happen by:
Listening to headteachers and representing their views with policy makers, school leaders, key agencies working in the area, and the wider pubic.
Providing opportunities for headteachers to connect and share knowledge and skills.
Creating a safe network for peer support and a listening ear.
Running events for professional development to support leaders in the successful running of their schools.
The Committee
We have an executive committee. This is currently led by the executive director and the chair. These two in-service headteachers are remunerated via a recharge to their schools for the time and commitment undertaken to deliver the work of the Association.
If you are interested in joining the committee, please get in touch with us via the In Touch page.
Exec. Director: Rebecca Leek
Rebecca has been a headteacher, CEO, Senco, and a system leader across a number of schools. She now splits her time between the Association and supporting schools as an interim headteacher. She is the author of The School Ready Governor and writes regularly for a number of publications. She is interested in making sure that all headteachers are part of a diverse and interconnected network.
Chair: Mark Girling
Mark has worked in Suffolk schools for 25 years and been a headteacher for the last 11 years. Having started headship at Melton Primary School he then took on the role of executive headteacher at the Federation of Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior Schools in Felixstowe. He is particularly keen to find ways of building wider networks amongst headteachers and so we can continue to provide valuable support to each other.
Executive Assistant: Alison Bramall
Alison supports the Suffolk Primary Headteachers' Association in many ways - with finance, events, communications and the construction of excellent goody bags.
Alison is always interested to hear from potential advertisers and sponsors so get in touch if you would like to reach school leaders across the county.
